Walnut sapling

NOVEMBER

  • First of all, it should be paid attention that the walnut seedlings taken are grafted, correct to the name and of high quality (root structure improved, in diameter).

  • The pits where the sapling will be planted should be 50 × 50 cm in size, and the pit should be filled halfway with a mixture of top soil and 2-3 shovels of burnt animal manure. Burnt animal manure: It is very important for the sapling in terms of the soil not squeezing the root of the sapling and keeping the seedlings warm in winter and keeping it moist and cool in the summer. However, if there is no burnt animal manure, chemical root fertilizers should be used. These fertilizers are 20-20 or 18-46 (DAP) and should be used by laying 150-200 grams at the bottom of the pit.

  • Root pruning of the walnut sapling is made (some of the long roots are removed), the seedling is placed 5 cm above the soil, the seedling is placed in the pit, the top of the root is filled with annealed soil, and the top is filled with other emerging soil, 5 liters of life water is given.

  • If the land gets wind, seedlings are tied with hereke.

DECEMBER

  • Since the walnut sapling is asleep, it does not need any maintenance. Planting can also be done this month, as we have described in November.

JANUARY

  • Since the walnut sapling is asleep, it does not need any maintenance. Planting can also be done this month, as we have described in November.

FEBRUARY

  • Newly planted walnut seedlings are pruned at 40 cm.

  • 2% burgundy slurry is applied to walnut seedlings planted before. Preparation of Burgundy Slurry: Burgundy slurry is a mixture prepared using bluestone (Copper Sulphate 98%) and lime. The 2% burgundy slurry is prepared as follows: 2 kg bluestone is melted in 50 liters of water. Later, half the amount of bluestone, that is, 1 kg of quicklime, is dissolved in a small amount of water. The melted lime is filtered and mixed with 50 liters of water. The two mixtures obtained are then combined into a 100 liter container to form a light blue slurry.

  • Planting seedlings can be continued.

MARCH

  • Much attention should be paid to the care of walnut seedlings in March.

  • Rain and snow waters, which fall down during the winter, will burst the soil, and the resulting hard layer should be broken by the hand hoe method until the end of March. In this way, evaporation of the water accumulated at the root of the sapling, the sapling root to breathe and work is ensured. In this way, it is ensured that the rains falling until the irrigation time are better absorbed by the soil.

  • Top pruning that cannot be done in February is made of 40 cm.

  • Planting seedlings can be continued.

ENGAGEMENT

  • Checking the bottom of the vaccine point frequently, the resulting wild shoots are cut.

  • Planting open-rooted walnut seedlings is not recommended, except for the first days, but planting seedlings can be continued.

MAY

  • For the development of walnut trees, they are given from ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate fertilizers for each age of the tree, starting from the first age of the seedlings, at the beginning of May and mid-May.

  • Irrigation starts from the 15th of May. Depending on the soil structure and climate, the amount of water and time interval varies.

  • If black walnut seedlings are seen black, 1% burgundy slurry or ready copper is used.

  • 1% burgundy slurry is prepared as follows: 1 kg of bluestone is dissolved in 50 liters of water. Later, half the amount of bluestone, that is 0.5 kg of quicklime, is dissolved in a small amount of water. The melted lime is filtered and mixed with 50 liters of water. The two mixtures obtained are then combined into a 100 liter container to form a light blue slurry.

  • If leaf pests are seen, insecticide group drugs are applied.

  • If the sapling area is grazed, hoeing is done by hand hoe method. In this way, the root of the sapling is provided to work comfortably.

  • Planting of tubular walnut seedlings can be continued.

JUNE

  • For the development of the trees, starting from the first year of the saplings, at the beginning of June and in the middle of June, they are given from ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate fertilizers for each age of the tree, with a calculation of 100 grams / tree.

  • Irrigation is continued. Depending on the soil structure and climate, the amount of water and time interval varies.

  • Again, if leaf pests are seen, insecticide group drugs are applied.

  • If the sapling area is grazed, hoeing is done by hand hoe method. In this way, the root of the sapling is provided to work comfortably.

  • Planting of tubular walnut seedlings can be continued.

JULY

  • Irrigation is continued.

  • Planting of tubular walnut seedlings can be continued. However, we do not recommend it too much since the seedlings require a lot of care this month.

AUGUST

  • Starting from the 15th of August, irrigation is reduced and walnut seedlings are prepared for winter.

  • It is possible to continue planting sapling. However, we do not recommend it too much since the seedlings require a lot of care this month.

SEPTEMBER

  • Watering is not done this month, but if the season is very dry, a small amount of water should be given to protect the trunk of the sapling.

  • Fruit harvest of the walnut tree is made.

  • It is possible to continue planting sapling.

OCTOBER

  • The leaves falling from walnut seedlings are collected and burned.

  • The dry branches of the sapling are taken and light pruning is done.

  • Planting of tubular walnut seedlings can be continued.

MAINTENANCE OF WALNUT SAPLING IS NOT DIFFERENT IN OTHER MONTHS. BUT THE SHAPE SHAPES DIFFERENTLY BY THE SIZE OF THE TREE AND THE SEWING FREQUENCY. TO PROVIDE THE SUNS THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS GENERALLY ATTENTION TO THE SUN, AND TO PREVENT INTERIOR.
